Be warned Vista has issues, hold off for now. Vista is being tauted as Windows Me the upgrade of Windows 98 back in 2000 that was a total flop. Microsoft are working on a newer version to of NT Based OS's to be released within the next two years.

Microsoft have also extended XP's life to 2014. So stick with XP if you can. If it works and it ain't broke, dont tamper, or cause yourself some misfortune, by migrating to Vista.

Darn it......Due to work pressures....and calls for help with Vista from Friends.

I have had to fold and purchase Windows Vista Home Premium. My system is very capable of running Vista. Once I have installed Vista. I will post how I find the OS and stability. Smiley

OK david your turn to purchase. I bought mine on EBay. All above board as well, and half the price Officeworks etc sell Vista for. Wink

Smiley   Ok so far so good with vista i have the home premium edition and think it is quite easy to use. I have not had a problem loading any programs and although the constant harrassing of the os when you do try to load a program is a pain in the ass its not a bad pain better than a dead pc because you loaded a virus/trojan infected file, and it can be disabled so no problem.

Love the Areo 3d flip and also love the application called snipping tool great for taking screen shots. I also like the way the system loads quick a big improvement on xp i think (attached a copy)

All in all i give it a 9 out of ten === i also upgraded from basic to home premium from a trusted web site  http://www.shoparhive.com/index.php?p=home
They also have a huge range of microsoft and other software including office2007. Worth a shot if you are in a hurry  Grin

Cheers
